RELY ON GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: Disallowed your glorious past not to replace your reliance on God for direction.

1 Samuel 30

King David was a man of war from an early age.
God identified David as a man after His heart.
When Goliath, the Philistine, stood between the Israelites and peace, David stood against him to terminate his life.
David was wise-full of the move of God, the evidence of him as one that is mindful of God.
By his wisdom and knowledge, he did not upset the plan of God to force his way to the throne but gave himself to the appointed time of God.
How often have you come out of the timing plan of God into self-time?
David had the reason to kill the reigning king (Saul) when Saul attempted to kill him.
Yet David did not take the life of Saul but waited for the appointed time to become the King after Saul.
With wisdom and knowledge, he chose to run and hide from cave to cave, wilderness to wilderness, and from one priest to another.
From David, learn wisdom and knowledge to be inquiring from God.
At a time when King Saul was after his life, David wanted to keep his father and mother safe as stated: “Then David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and mother come here with you, till I know what God will do for me.” So he brought them before the king of Moab, and they dwelt with him all the time that David was in the stronghold.” (1 Samuel 22:3)
David also inquired from God before going after the Amalekites burned the city and took captive wives, sons, and daughters of his men.
Bible records, “David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail to recover all.” (1 Samuel 30:8)
David disallowed his glorious past not to replace his reliance on God for direction.
David inquired as he “…attacked them from twilight until the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled. So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all.” (1 Samuel 30:17-19)
Inquiring from God is the evidence of one that is after the heart of God.
Inquiring is the character of one with faith that seeks God diligently, to see God, to attain great exploit for the glory of God.

Prayer for today: Ask for the God-given days of your life shall know to be continual inquiring for reliance on God for direction.

THE LIGHT OF GOD

Faith Capsule: The arresting light of God re-route life journey.

Acts 9

At the timing of God to call anyone, there will be nowhere to hide or run from God not to answer.
Have you been running away from the calling of God?
Regardless of how long you have been running from God, there will be an appointed time to catch one running from Him.
To run or hide from the assignment of God can be working against the work of God.
Saul (Apostle Paul) ran against the work of God.
Saul was going against believers to persecute them when God arrested him.
Acts 9:1-2 records, “Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.”
Saul (Apostle Paul) purposed evil, but God disposed of his plan when he came under the arrest of Jesus.
Saul took to a dark avenue against God, but the light of God arrested him.
Acts 9:3 records, “As he journeyed, he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.”
The light of God around Saul exposed him to arrest him by answering to the calling of God, “And he said, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ Then the Lord said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’” So he trembling and astonished said, ‘Lord, what do you want me to do?’ Then the Lord said to him, ‘Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.’” (Acts 9:5-6)
The arresting light of God re-routed the life journey of Saul.
Saul had his name changed from Saul to Paul.
Above all, the light which arrested Saul empowered him to live his remaining life under the unfailing light of God.
With the light on him, he could not misstep in the calling of God upon his life.
Walking into darkness failed in the life of Paul.
The light that brought Saul out from darkness gave him new spiritual eyesight.
The light became the compass for Paul as he operated heaven on earth through all his life.
Are you running from the calling of God?
With God, there is no darkness to deny light from exposing one that is running or hiding from God.
Now is time for you to stop running from the calling of God upon your life.
God will back you up when He calls you.
Be encouraged by the word of 1 Thessalonians 5:24, “He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.”

Prayer for today: Ask for the light of God to shine on you that you may fully answer His calling upon your life.

AVOID

FAITH CAPSULE: Avoid the wrong way by taking the right way.

Jeremiah 7

The way to move forward is in the word of God, while the way backward is in the wicked world of man.
With you, which way are you?
Are you going by the dictates of your heart or by the living word of the living God?
Going by the dictates of the heart can be evidence of going by the world.
The way of the world is the way that seems right to man, not the way of God.
Proverbs 14:12 makes us realize that “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”
The way that seems right to man comes from the dictates of the evil heart.
There is no way to go forward in a way that seems right.
The way that seems right is wrong; the way that seems right is always a way of assumption with no certainty to lead right.
Think about it to identify why going backward instead of not going forward.
The possibility of your going back is following the dictates of your heart. God spoke to Jeremiah about the dictates of their evil hearts and going backward in Jeremiah 7:21-24, “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat. For I did not speak to your fathers, or command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices.
But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’
Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.”  God called it evil heart.
Evil heart belongs to wicked.
The word of God is worthy and should be for the heart.
The word of God to the hear will see through life journey.
Journeying of life demands to avoid counsels and dictates from the evil heart as mentioned by God.
Evil heart or wicked heart only leads to the wrong way.
The word God says the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9)
Why should a God-fearing one want to keep going back to the evil heart for counsels and dictates?
Going back and away from God will lead to the wrong way.
From today, begin to take your counsels to the Lord in prayer; He alone is the living God.
Avoid the wrong way by taking the right way.
In your life journeying, allow God to guide and lead you through.

Prayer for today: Ask for the leading, the guidance of God to be your way.

BOAST OF GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: The boasting in God is the testimony of giving attention to God

1 Samuel 17

With understanding and knowledge, boasting about God is glorifying God.
Who are you boasting about besides God?
Are you boasting about your strength?
In your boasting, allow God to be your strength.
David was a shepherd boy, caring for sheep when he killed a lion and the bear with his strength and might to deliver sheep in his care.
David was with the strength might, but he did not boast in himself, but he identified God as his strength and might to boast in God.
Are you bosting about your strength?
It was boasting in God that David confronted Goliath at his war of Philistines against the Israelites.
At the onset of war between the Israelites and Philistines, Goliath repeatedly despised the Israelites and their God.
David boasted in God to convince Saul for his permission to fight against Goliath.
David states before King Saul: “Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God. Moreover, David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!” (1 Samuel 17:36-37)
The boasting of David in the Lord did not allow him to boast in his strength which is the evidence of why he was able to kill a lion and bear by his hand.
The boasting in God is the testimony of giving attention to God in life.
One that gives attention to God will prompt a favorable intervention as a winner.
Against Goliath, the weapon of David was not of man but was the hand of God.
What is your boast about in life?
Among the things man boasts about consciously or consciously in life are their wisdom or riches.
Jeremiah 9:23-24 speaks to all about the issue of boasting, “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these, I delight,”
In life, get understanding and know that God matters the most.
In life, not boasting about God testifies to a lack of understanding or knowing God.
Making your boast in God is a way of glorifying God with praise.
To be acknowledging God is praising God. Psalm 50:23 buttress, “Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.”
Allow boasting God to become your way of life.

Prayer for today: Ask that God enable you to make boasting Him your way of life.

LIFE DECISION

FAITH CAPSULE: A right or wrong decision will prompt consequences in the life journey.

Exodus 3

Romans 15:4 records, “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”
Learn and live by the living word of God.
The life journey is full of ups downs that can deliver unexpected manifestation.
One thing that is true to deliver in the journey of life is giving self to learn in the word of God, as a map to arrive at the divine assignment of God.
The effect of decision-making can be positive or negative.
The decision is possible to provoke gain, while a negative is possible to inflict pain.
A decision is a conclusion or resolution reached after consideration.
Making a right or wrong decision will prompt consequences of pain or gain in life.
In life, a decision made on your behalf yesterday or a decision made on behalf of one will affect or determine where such is today or tomorrow.
Today, decisions that are made by grandparents, parents, or by you are not immune to being painful situations.
What kind of position are you experiencing in life?
Every position of life rooted in the wrong decision of yesterday or today is reversed from pain to gain.
In the journey of life, decision-made by self, on behalf of one is possible to deliver pain of derailment to delay or destroy one.
What decision was made on your behalf, inflicting pain in your life?
The Israelites were in bondage of slavery in Egypt by the decision made by their grandparents.
The decision to deliver the Israelites from famine on their land eventually led them to Egypt that turned to serve in the bondage of years at Egypt.
The prayer, crying out of Israelites before God, gained the attention of God.
God remembered the Israelites, intervened by His stretch-out hand for deliverance out of Egypt bondage.
Bible records: “So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst, and after that, he will let you go.” (Exodus 3:20)
“And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out My hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.” (Exodus 7:5)
The stretch-out hand of God brought the Israelites out of the decision rooted in challenges that brought them into Egypt, where they lived the life of bondage for over four hundred years.
Know and believe that God is the only God that reverses irreversible.
God answered the crying out of prayer by the Israelites, by the stretch-out hand which delivered the Israelites from the bondage of over four hundred years.
Every painful decision made on your behalf is reversible by watching and praying.
Also, every decision with a gainful situation that is worthy is to be kept by watching and praying.

Prayer for today: Cry out to God for intervention over a consequence decision of negative with pain over your life.
