THE POWER OF GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: The word of God is the power of God.

Hebrews 4

What the word of God is about is identified in the Old Testament also in the New Testament.
Deuteronomy 4:2 warns, “You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
Are you taking away or adding to the word of God?
Hebrews 4:12 introduces what the word of God is about for all, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Give yourself to know the word of God that is magnified by God as Psalm 138:2 states, “For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.”
The word of God is the power of God over any force or any activity of darkness. Psalm 105 points out, “He sent darkness, and made it dark, and they did not rebel against His word.”
The word of God is power for healing and deliverance.
Psalm 107:20 made it known, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”
Calling on God by His word, God shall intervene.
God will not fail to send His magnified word against challenges.
Are you full of the word of God?
One that is full of the word of God will not be quiet but know to call for the magnified word of God in times of challenge.
Once, Jesus, with His disciples, had an encounter with a troubling wind and sea as He traveled on the sea.
The Bible records, “Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So, the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” (Matthew 8:23-27)
Jesus spoke the word to calm the troubling wind and sea.
As a believer of the word of God, in the troubling challenge, speak the word of God that delivers and preserves from evil agenda.
Listen, power belongs to the word of God to rebuke and to calm any challenge that ravages your world.
Give yourself to the word of God that will build you to give you abundant life.
The word of God speaks to all.

Prayer for today: Ask for the word of God to gain entrance into you.

FOR OR AGAINST

FAITH CAPSULE: What is it that you hold on to, against the word of God?

Genesis 6

The word of God builds.
To whom the word of God locates, receives, and believes the word of God with obedience shall be build-up for the glory of God.
One that does not give regard to the word of God that disobeys the word of God will not be build-up by the word of God.
Psalm 28:5 records, “Because they do not regard the works of the Lord, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up.”
Noah moved by the command of God, and without a doubt, he did not question God.
Noah received and believed the command of God to build an ark that served him as a vehicle against a flood of destruction.
The word of God testifies the obedience of Noah, “Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.” (Genesis 6:22) What is it that you hold on to, against the word of God?
Why not give yourself to the word of God that will build you up?
Obedience to the word of God by Noah was his build-up against the flood of destruction.
In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul identifies what it takes to become built up, “So now brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace which is able to build you up and give your inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” (Acts 20:32)
Will you allow the word of God to build you and your household?
Engaging the word of God with heart shall prompt one to be living by the word of God.
Meditating the word of God is a way to see the word of God and live as a believer.
Joshua 1:8 encourages, “This book of law shall not depart your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
One that does not obey the word of God will not build up but will take a position to falter, fail or fall in the journey of life.
Noah heard to see, receive and become of the word of God.
By the word of God, Noah and his family could not become a victim of the flood of destruction.
Are you giving attention to the word of God or the world?
Allow the word of God into your life, respond as commanded by God to gain the light of God against the darkness that is not of God.
Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.”
Hear, see, receive to become a vessel of obedience to God.

Prayer for today: Ask that the word of God shall occupy you.

IMPORTANT

FAITH CAPSULE: Listening, giving attention will attain understanding.

Listening is giving attention, and attention is listening.
Proverbs 4:1 testifies to the importance of attention to have the understanding saying, “Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding” (Proverbs 4:1)
Jesus also questions and answered about understanding and listening, “Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.” (John 8:43)
With listening comes understanding to know God, the truth to live for the glory of God.
Listen, with understanding, know that Jesus is the word of God. John 1:1 states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Understand that Jesu, the word of God, is the truth when He says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)
One that does not listen to understand the word of God, the truth of God, cannot believe and will not know God as John 8:45 confirms, “But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.”
Think of it, how can you know God that you do not know to believe?
In life, it is not possible to know God that you do not understand but to only know about God.
Do you know God, or do you know about God?
The majority of acclaimed believers that do not know the truth of God do not know God.
One that does not know the truth, the word of God, is not free.
John 8:42 confirms, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” know the truth of God to be free from the wickedness of the world, living free by the word of God.
In this world, listening disability not to understand and know the truth of God is rooted in not having time for God.
Will you give attention to the word of God, to enter you as the light of God?
Psalm 119:130 admonishes, “The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.” One with no light of God shall continually experience the challenges of the world of darkness and not experience free, navigating through the world of darkness.
With understanding, know the truth of God, do not be one that suppresses the truth of God, which is the righteousness of God.
Romans 1:18 warns, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.”
Let the desire for God become your portion.
Get the understanding that will enable you not to live a life of waste but to live a life of worshiping God, the purpose He creates all for His pleasure.

Prayer for today: Ask that God shall fill you with spiritual understanding.

BOLDNESS AND CHARACTER

FAITH CAPSULE: Zeal for God is the evidence of boldness and character.

John 2

In the life of Jesus, what it means to have a zeal for God is evident in His way of life.
John 2:13-17 records the zeal of Jesus, “Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.”
To have the zeal for God is living life, seeking God diligently.
The zeal of Jesus is the documentation for all to learn, to know what it means to live life for the glory of God.
Zeal for God is the evidence of boldness and character, which is a winning combination.
Without the zeal for God, there will be no boldness and character for the acclaimed believer of the word of God to flush out activities of the world in the temple.
Are you zealous for God?
One with zeal for God will always stand against the world of disobedience by looking into the word of God with action.
Jesus could not look away from world activities in the temple but drove all wicked world activities outside of the temple of God.
Are you an acclaimed temple of God, full of activities that are not of God?
One with the zeal of God will identify merchandise that is not of God that calls for turning it out.
One with the zeal of God will not compromise the word of God in the temple of God.
The boldness and character of Jesus is the reason why His disciples said, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up”
To be eaten up by the zeal for God is one that is built up by the word of God and one meditating on the word of God day and night.
Why not desire to become one with the zeal of God?
It is wise to engage in prayer, not a determination to become one with the zeal for God.
Manifestly, until the zeal of God eats up a believer, the possibility of having a clean temple will not be possible.
Do you have the zeal for God?
With the zeal for God, the presence of God will have a place in your life.
In life, desire for the zeal for God to eat you up and to set and settle you before God.

Prayer for today: Ask for the Zeal of God to eat you up, that you live life in all God-given days to you.

BROKEN?

FAITH CAPSULE: With God, to be broken is to be blessed.

Genesis 37

In life, to become broken comes before experiencing the blessing of God.
Abraham experienced broken when he answered the calling of God that sent him out of his comfort zone, his family.
Later, in the journey of Abraham, the manifestation of the blessing of God answered in his life.
Moses grew up in the palace of Pharaoh, undoubtedly one of the best palaces in time pf Moses.
The broken point for Moses in life was when he ran away from the palace Pharaoh until the blessing of God answered for him as the leader of the Israelites.
The calling of God broke Joseph before the manifestation of the blessing of God answered over his life.
When Joseph answered to the calling of God, it was without knowing the challenges and the blessing hidden in his journey of life.
At age 17, the answering of Joseph to Jacob (his father) was the route for his divine assignment. Jacob said, “…Please go and see if it is well with your brothers and well with the flocks and bring back word to me.” So, he sent him out of the Valley of Hebron, and he went to Shechem.” (Genesis 37:14)
The answering of Joseph to the calling of Jacob was not outside of God.
The book of Psalm 105:17-22 confirms the calling of Joseph as it states, “He sent a man before them Joseph who was sold as a slave.” They hurt his feet with fetters, He was laid in irons. “Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him. The king sent and released him; the ruler of the people let him go free. He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possessions, to bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his elders wisdom.”
Joseph, at 17 years (Genesis 37:2) was broken.
Joseph experienced a painful broken relationship, not seeing his beloved father Jacob until over 30 years. (Genesis 41:46)
Joseph, the beloved of Jacob (his father), unknowingly answered calling as a priced slave the became blessed as prime minister.
Regardless of where you are today, do you know if you are answering the calling of God with pain?
Joseph became a slave; he could no longer move at his own will.
Joseph came under an authority that he could not control.
The calling of God will lead the called one into an unknown route where learning is waiting for called one to know and become obedient to God.
Jesus was broken and answered as the blessing of God to become the blessing of all.
Philippians 2:8 testifies of Jesus, “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
God blesses the broken one before Him.

Prayer for today: Ask that the strength of God shall have a place in you to answer the calling of God.
