FAITH CAPSULE: God wants all to exist for Him.
Ecclesiastes 8
To exist for God is to live for God.
It is the will of God for His creation to live for God. (Revelation 4:11)
To live for God is to seek God diligently.
Seeking God diligently is following God in His way, living life to please God and be counted for His reward.
Why is it that a creation would not live for the Creator?
Among the ways live, seek, and follow God are:
BEING WATCHFUL, BE AWAKE SPIRITUALLY BEFORE GOD
Live life with awareness of the presence of God, to follow God continually and consistently.
The wicked one, the devourer, does not sleep but with an agenda to derail anyone from living for God.
Seek but do not sleep in the place of seeking God diligently.
The parable of Jesus is an everyday truth with a spiritual application; it is an earthly truth with a heavenly meaning, in His parable of sleeping in the place of serving God. Matthew 13:25-30 records, “…but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”
The above parable of Jesus reveals that sleeping will displace following God. One displaced from following God is an opening for the wicked to gain entrance.
Every time one is sleeping before God, it will position one to be FAR from GOD, who is not FAR to all.
Sleeping before God cannot possibly follow God, living for God.
DO NOT BE WICKED
Living for God is living right before God.
Know that wickedness is continual, but one must avoid walking outside of God. One who is walking outside of God will walk in line with the evil activities of the wicked world.
God will judge the wicked world at His appointed time.
Ecclesiastes 8:11-12 warned, “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him.” Seeking God diligently will follow God continually, not to be counted with the wicked world at the appointed time of the judgment of God.
Like a seed, sow yourself in God by seeking God diligently.
Follow God to be standing in God.
Seeking God diligently is following God by His word to please God and be rewarded by God.
Prayer for today: Ask God that your step be rooted in His word, to follow Him all the days of life He has given you.
