FAITH CAPSULE: Wait and keep looking up from Him.
Psalm 91
Asking, seeking and knocking for God’s intervention is waiting to get open door answer. God is a good God that cares for His creation. Isaiah 64:4 testifies, “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear; nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him.”
Are you with understanding that knowing to wait is also rooted in asking, seeking and knocking? Are you one that assumes for answer in time of challenges? God is a caring God who acts for the one who waits for Him. Jesus buttressed, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7) (Matthew 21:22) “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22) Waiting by asking, seeking and knocking is the key to receiving from God. However, waiting that is not rooted in understanding that God hears all and answers all at His appointed time will lead to frustration. Where there is frustration rebellion and disobedience reigns.
It is written in Psalm 91:15, “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.” (Psalm 91:15) Knowing to call on Him will provoke His hand for an undeniable miracle because He is God that is true to His word. The book of Isaiah 58:9 also confirmed God’s faithfulness, “Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; you shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am…’”
It was the understanding and knowing to wait that provoked King David in 1 Samuel 22:4, “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.” It is the heart that trusts to remember calling in the midst of troubling challenges. King David was an example of one with understands to wait and not go to war without looking up to seek the face of God. Twice in 1 Samuel 23, verses 2 and 4, he repeatedly went and inquired from God before going to war against the Philistines.
The Israelites in bondage of over four hundred years cried to God, “And the LORD said: ‘I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians…” (Exodus 3:7-8) God is consistent not fail in honoring His word; do not fail to wait in asking, seeking and knocking.
Look up and ask from Him.
