FAITH CAPSULE: God acts for the one who waits for Him.
Matthew 7
Jesus spoke the truth to those who believes (not just the Jews), “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32) Abiding in the word of God is possible when there is knowledge of the truth. Knowledge is the application of wisdom. Understanding is paying attention to wisdom because wisdom is instruction.
Jesus wants us to know the truth and the truth shall make us free. Among the truth that helps us as His disciple is to know waiting on God.
What is it about waiting?
Waiting is not fun when there is no knowledge of the truth about waiting.
Waiting can be pain but with knowledge of its truth, it often turns to gain.
Waiting in time of challenges can be to remain inactive or in a state of calm, as until something expected happens.
Waiting on God for answer could be postponement, delay, yes or no.However, with knowledge of truth, there will be clear understand that, asking, seeking and knocking for God’s intervention is waiting to get open door answer.
Jesus buttressed, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7) (Matthew 21:22) “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22) In life, understanding to wait by asking, seeking and knocking is the key that makes believer to know the truth. It is the truth that shall make you free.
God will always act for those who wait on Him with knowledge of truth. Isaiah 64:4-5 testifies, “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear; nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him. You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, who remember You in Your ways…”
Among three ways of truth by which He acts for the one who waits for Him are identified in the Isaiah verses are:
God meets with him who rejoices.
God meets with one that does righteousness.
God meets with meets with ones who remember His ways.
Apostle Paul knows the truth of waiting and having God to act when he repeatedly encouraged about rejoicing in the Lord always. (Philippians 4:4) Paul also encouraged us to be awake to righteousness, and do not sin. (1Corinthians 15:34) He admonished as Jesus told us to do communion with remembrance as often as we do. It is a way of God and when one is taking to His way, God acts for one. (I Corinthians 11:23-25)
The word of God is not a mere story but a secret that will deliver with answer unto believer. Believer with a knowledge truth of word will always wait on God with expectation with no frustration. Get knowledge and know that God acts for the one who waits for Him.
Prayer for today: Ask God to open up your understanding of His word.
