Gen.39:1-23, Jer.12:1-4

Jeremiah had complaint before God concerning the wicked. He wondered why the wicked prosper. He also wondered why they are happy with their treacherous life style. Jer.12:2 while he was still talking to God, he said ÒYou have planted them, yes, they have taken root; they grow, yes, they bear fruit. You are near in their mouth but far from their mind. In his conversation, he clearly identified that the wicked are the ones that have the word of God in their mouth but the word is far from their mind. Are you a master in quoting the pages of the scripture without actually demonstrating the word in your life styles? This is a very common demonstration in the church today. There are so many that constantly quote the word of God but the word is not their coat (garment) because the word is far from their mind. These are the wicked ones that Jeremiah was referring to. This also points out the reason why Joseph used the word wicked when was confronted by the wife of Potiphar. In Gen.39:9 Joseph said ÒHow can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?Ó Joseph was a man that knows the word of God and he was also mindful of the word not just mouthful as it is for so many believers that quotes word on an empty ground. It is an act of wickedness to know the word and not to take it to the mind. To take the word to the mind is to do the word. Memorization is not meditation.
