1Samuel 15

Obeying GodÕs command is not just in the mouth. Also, fearing God is not just in the mouth. Obeying and fearing God should both be in the heart and in demonstration. Among believers, there are so many that always claim to be obedient and to fear God. It is all lie, not true because it is not rooted in the heart. How can a lying believer claim that he fears God and be making up stories of what is not true? You as a child of God have taken Him too small in your heart. Your obedience is to the one that you fear, and not to God. This is a proven fact in the life of King Saul. Saul witnessed the power of God a number of times but he faltered when it came down to the issue of obeying God. He failed to obey because he could not see God in the picture at the time of his disobedience. Saul saw the people; he feared the people instead of God and disobedience took over his relationship with God. Ò1Samuel 15:24, then Saul said to Samuel, ÔI have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.Ó For real, who do you fear? Ask King Saul about what happened after he substituted his fear for the picture that was presented to Him. There is sin, forgiveness, and consequence. Sin is cheap, forgiveness has been paid for (if you repent) but the consequence is expensive and painful. You will have to pay for the consequences of your sin.
