2Kings 4:8-37
The Shunamite woman was described as a notable woman. She was constantly concerned for the man of God, Elisha. Her concern became consistent that the man of God wanted to reward her for her good gesture. Elisha inquired about what could be done to reward the Shunamite woman. 2 Kings 4:14, ÒSo he said, ÔWhat then is to be done for her?Õ And Gehazi answered, ÔActually, she has no son, and her husband is old.ÕÓ Having discovered her need, Elisha prayed for her and she had a son. After sometime, the child died. The Shunamite woman knew that the child was dead but she was renewed in her faith and she did not accept death for her son. A trip was planned to go and meet Elisha. She requested permission from her husband who knew nothing about the death. 2 Kings4:23, ÒSo he said, ÔWhy are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath.Õ And she said, ÔIt is well.ÕÓ As she approached Elisha, her response did not change but she repeated, ÒIt is wellÓ. In the face of death she could see nothing but life and wellness. Faith demands that you confess positive. Hebrews 11:1, ÒNow faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.Ó In your challenges, stay faithful; let the world see it negative while you stay positive. Do you believe? Believe, and let it be your statement, God will honor Himself in the name of Jesus.
