Wait and Act< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
Genesis 13:1-18
It is always better to wait before you act, not act before you wait. When you wait before you act, God will always act on your behalf. Abraham, with his good heart, took < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Lot with him when he was not supposed to. In their journeys together from one land to another land, their possessions became larger, and there was a need for separation. Genesis 13:6, ÒNow the land was not able to support them, that they might dwell together, for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together.Ó With growth came strife and need for Abraham and Lot to separate from each other. As a result, there was a call for the separation of land between Abraham and Lot. Genesis 13:10, ÒAnd Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar.Ó Lot chose the best without any hesitation. Lot could not wait for the older man, Abraham. Abraham did not object but accepted and agreed with Lot. Abraham waited, and God acted. Genesis 13:14, ÒAnd the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from Him: ÔLift your eyes now and look from the place where you are Ð northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.Ó Do you believe that the same God is still working His wonderful miracle? God will not fail to reward you if you can wait for Him to act on your behalf. Lot could not wait, and his choice led him down an unwanted, painful path.
