POSITIONING< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
Ezra 7, 8
Ezra was described as a skilled scribe in the Law of Moses. When he was set to leave < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Babylon for Jerusalem, King Artaxerxes gave to him all his request because the hand of God was upon him. In his entire request, he later realized that he did not ask for the provision of security that will lead him and his entourage against enemies on the road. Ezra pointed out the reason why he could not go back and request for the addition of security from the king. In Ezra 8:22, ÒFor I was ashamed to request of the king an escort of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy on the road, because we had spoken to the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him, but His power and His wrath are against all those who forsake Him.Ó It is demonstrated in EzraÕs statement of request that he was boasting of his God. Ezra did not limit, reduce or put any condition on what God can do or cannot do. He made a bold testimony of how his God operates because he knew his God and what He can do. Above all, EzraÕs statement demonstrated the fact that God has everything in place, but we have to be in a position to receive. Have you been able to confess Him at any level like Ezra did and not get the result? It is one thing to ask or trust God for intervention and it is another to be able to take a position to receive our request or confession. Ezra, having realized what he confessed, needed to take a position in receiving his confession. Ezra described his positioning in Ezra 8:23, ÒSo we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.Ó Ezra went out of his way and into the way to receive from God by making a proclamation to fast and become humble before God. If you have been confessing Him or asking from Him and there is no demonstration of His power coming to manifestation, it is time for you to begin to examine how you have been positioning yourself. God is a faithful God and He will never, ever fail or be late.
