ASK HIM

FAITH CAPSULE: Asking from Him is an evidence of faith.

Mark 10: 46-52, John 5:1-15, John 6:1-14,

At Sheep Gate a pool, Jesus paid an unexpected visit. At the pool there was a great multitude of sick people always waiting for the moving of the water. It was a pool where healing was taking place whenever an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease in their life. It was at the pool Jesus saw a certain man with thirty-eight years infirmity. It is written, When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”” (John 5:6) How could Jesus, the One who is the healing healer, the eternal surgeon not know there was a need for healing?
Jesus was also checking out of Jericho with His disciples when He encountered a great multitude including blind Bartimaeus. The Bible recorded, And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”(Mark 10:47) Bartimaeus resisted those who asked him to keep quiet as he persistently cried out to Jesus. His persistence caught the attention of Jesus and He, “…answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” (Mark 10:51) Again how could Jesus, the one who reverses the irreversible not know there was a need for the blind man to regain his sight.
Jesus got himself and His disciples to the place that called for the feeding of five thousand; there was no food physically in place. John 6:5-6, “Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.” How could Jesus, the One that is in charge of meeting needs in the place of lack, not know what He would do? Jesus knew what He would do and He had answer in His hand before questioning. Do you know what to do to come out of stagnation of life?
Jesus questioned to provoke asking so that He will not violate His word which commanded us, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Mathew 7:7) Do not be too quiet and miss your victory, open your mouth and ask as commanded. Asking is an evidence of faith, not to ask or to stop asking when answer is yet to be delivered is an evidence of lack of faith. He is answer to all of our questions. Ask Jesus!

Prayer for today: Ask for the understanding and grace to know to ask and not shut out your miracle.
