FAITH CAPSULE: The time for all is in the hand of God.
Jonah 1, 2
God alone is the Master Planner with details in His hand.
Time is in the control of God, but man can only interfere with the clock. God will call all to His attention regardless of how one avoids God.
Jonah attempted to avoid the calling assignment of God, but he could not run away in the sight of God.
Jonah 1:1-3 records, “Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.”
Under heaven, no one can avoid the calling of God.
Jonah ran to avoid the calling of God but was exposed and could not hide from the eyes of God.
When it was time for God, the running and hiding of Jonah ended in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights.
What is encouraging your running from your creator?
God does have a way of calling to get the attention of all.
When it was time for the calling of Moses, there was no way for ignorance to avoid God.
Exodus 3:1-3 states, “Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”
In the place of your ignorance, are you willing to turn aside and give attention to the calling from God?
The calling of Joseph was through his dream.
His dream states, “There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright, and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.” (Genesis 37:7) “Look I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.” (Genesis 37:9)
His dream was not well received when it answered the hearings of his brother.
Jacob, the father of Joseph, rebuked him for his dream.
His dream was his divine assignment, the calling of his life, with no information to get to the center of the calling.
The time for all is in the hand of God.
Man controls the clock, but the control of time belongs to God.
The dream of Joseph at age seventeen became manifested at age thirty. Who can be like God?
Prayer for today: Ask God to deliver you in His righteousness and not fail to answer His calling.
