FAITH CAPSULE: Acclaimed believers who walk wickedly can not hide from God.
Romans 12
Before God, there is a consequence when one walks against God.
One who claims, and does not lay hold, is living a life of waste.
It is worth having the desire to live by the word of God.
Conform to God, not the wickedness of this world.
What is your heart like?
Do you have a heart for God?
Are you one with the determination to do right before God?
Determination without the desire is not enough.
Peter was determined not to deny Jesus when Jesus told him he would deny Him three times.
Peter failed when he denied Jesus.
With desire, doing right before God does not fail.
Thank God that Jesus had prayed earlier for Peter not to fail.
Luke 22:32 records the prayer of Jesus over the life of Peter not to fail, stating, “I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail.”
Without doubt, determination is not enough to go far with God, but with desire.
Set yourself by keeping your heart for God. Proverbs 4:23 states, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”
David was a man with a heart of God and prayed in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
As a believer, pray the prayer of David with expectation for your heart to conform to God.
Have the desire to serve, conform to God, and despise wickedness.
Today, claiming to be a believer is not a license to escape from the wickedness of the world of today.
Evil is the wickedness of today.
As a believer who fears God, do you embrace or despise evil?
Proverbs 8:13 points out, “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.”
Claiming to fear God and not despise wickedness makes a joke of an acclaimed believer.
Today, many still conform to the wickedness.
Do you conform (comply) with things of this wicked world?
Paul the Apostle warned in Romans 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Conform is described as an action or behavior in correspondence with current customs, rules or styles.
The warning is for all not to conform to the wickedness of this world.
The ruler of this world is the wicked one; the liar and the destroyer, the devil, Satan himself.
Why not turn to God?
Give yourself to praying the prayer of the psalmist as stated, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10) In this wicked world of today, do not be conformed to this world.
Prayer for today: Ask God to enable you not to conform to this wicked world.
