1Sam.16:1-13

It wastime for Samuel to go to Bethlehem and anoint David as King. WhenSamuel got to Jesse (the father of David), he called for JesseÕs sons. 1Sam.16:6,7 so it was when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, ÒSurely the LORDÕsanointed is before Him!Ó

Butthe LORD said to Samuel, ÒDo not look at his appearance or at his physicalstature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; forman looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.Ó ÊIn every situation that isconfrontational, the right place to look at is the one that sees beyond how yousee. Samuel, a giant in the LORD looked at the appearance of Eliab (DavidÕsbrother). In his looking, he would have missed it and the purpose of hisassignment could have been in vain. Where or how you are looking in dealingwith all of your confrontations is what will make the difference not theappearance of your confrontation. Stop looking at the appearances of yourconfrontations; begin to look up to God for direction. In GodÕs direction, youcannot fail.
