Can you stand?< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
1King17:1; 18:1, Psa.24:3-4, James 5:17,
James 5:17, Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. Elijah was able to provoke the hand of God for rain to cease and rain to fall at his request. He said in 1king17:1, Òas the LORD God of < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my wordÓ He did three things that are worth imitating. First, he called on the name of God and that is Òthe LORD God of IsraelÓ. Secondly, he identified God as a living God. How often have you consciously called on Him by identifying Him as a living God? It does make a difference when you let Him know that you know Him as a living God. Lastly, Elijah declares his stand before God. Elijah knew that he stands. What does it takes to stand before Him? Ps.24:3 asked who may stand in His holy place? Ps. 24:4 answered Òhe who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. If you walk His walk; work His work, you will be able to take a stand to provoke His hand to move on your behalf. Enough of being a power less Christian; enter into His word and His word will answer for you. He is a living God.
