1 Samuel 15:1-9

Indirectly, Samuel reminded Saul that the same God who made him king is the same God that sent him (Samuel) to him (Saul). 1 Samuel 15:1, ÒSamuel also said Saul, ÔThe LORD sent me to anoint you king over His people, over < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Israel. Now therefore, heed the voice of the words of the LORD.ÕÓ It was a bigger assignment for Saul, and it was important. SamuelÕs designation of command to Saul should have been a strong indication for taking GodÕs command very seriously. From the moment Saul received the command, he became disobedient and did not acknowledge God in his action. It could have been an unconscious or conscious move, but there is no excuse before God. When God says go, that means go.1 Samuel 15:4-5, ÒSo Saul gathered the people together and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand foot soldiers and ten thousand men of Judah. And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and lay in wait in the valley.Ó To Saul, numbering the army was not enough as a way of doubting God. He went and lay in waiting in the valley. When God says go, that means go. A stop where He did not command will give the enemy a hand. He has sent you on a mission; He is more than able to see you through. Keep going on with His mission; do not look back, and do not lie in the valley. Lying in the valley is wasting away in waiting. You will not waste in your waiting.
