Galatians 5

Fulfilling the lust of the flesh is an engagement with the devil. Jesus described the devil as a thief that comes to steal and to kill, and to destroy (John < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>10:10). We are admonished by Paul to constantly renew our minds, to avoid conformity to this world and the fulfilling of the lust of the flesh. When constant renewing of the mind is in place, transformation will not be hindered in our walk with the Lord and becoming a victim of the devil will not prevail. In Galatians, the Apostle Paul identified the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:19, ÒNow the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.Ó The word of God is true and it will come to pass. Will you engage yourself in a search of your heart? Are you able to identify any of the above transgressions in your life? Ask Him to lead you out of it into the way everlasting. Apostle Paul also reveals that our walk in the Spirit allows us an escape from fulfilling the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16, ÒI say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.Ó A very strong statement by Apostle Paul here is, Òshall notÓ It is not possible to walk in the word of God while lusting in the flesh. Engage in the walk of the word and the Lord God will have mercy on you.
