SINFUL ACT< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
Numbers 32:1-27
It does not matter how long it takes or how creative you are, your sinful act will eventually find you out. The sons of Jacob committed a great and deliberate iniquity against their brother Joseph by selling their brother to slavery. Afterwards, they went home and lied to their father that Joseph has been devoured by a wild animal. It was a creative way of sinning but creativity does not prevail forever. Often, we fall into a sinful act thinking and knowing that we have creatively covered the sin. God is omnipotent and omnipresent; nothing is hidden or can be hidden from Him. Playing religion, lying, stealing, manipulating, deceiving, and all avenues of evil to destroy man from answering the call is not and will not be hidden from Him. For years, the sons of Jacob were riding high with the mindset of having destroyed their brother. Is there any way that you have taken like the ones that were taken against Joseph? It is time for us to begin to avoid creative sinning. The sinful act was discovered from Judah and his brothers. Genesis 44:16, ÒThen < ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>Judah said, ÒWhat shall we say to my lord? What shall we speak? Or how shall we clear ourselves? God has found out the iniquity of your servants; here we are, my lordÕs slaves, both we and he also with whom the cup was found.Ó Judah gave a confession of their sinful act. By constantly considering that sinful acts will not last forever, we do not have to go through what Judah and his brothers went through. Moses sounded the warning of sin finding out the sinner to the children of Reuben and the children of Gad at the point of committing a sinful act to God. Numbers 32:23, ÒBut if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out.Ó MosesÕ warning is a confirmation that sin will always find the sinner. Remember, there is no place to hide from the hand of God.
