KEEP FOLLOWING HIM< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>John 13:31-38
When the call of salvation came forth, you were able to answer yes and entered into a journey to follow Him. As the journey continues, there have been ups and downs that sometimes slow you down or partially knock you down as it does to most believers that have given there life to follow Jesus. Above all of your challenges, by your own judgment you have done the worst that is enough excuse for you to quit. Think of Peter for a moment, he witnessed the best of all miracles yet he did the worst of all expectations. Peter denied Jesus convincingly. In PeterÕs conversation at the time of Jesus announcement of His departure, Peter said to Jesus, ÒLord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for your sake.Ó 38 Jesus answered him, ÒWill you lay down your life for my sake? Most assuredly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.Ó Peter denied Him but he did not let it derail himself. He got back on his feet by the grace of God and his life was never what it was after getting back to follow Him. Wherever you have missed it that it continues to keep you grounded could never have been worst or better than that of Peter. It does not matter how long you have remained grounded and you chose not to get back into following Him, but what matters is for you to get back on your feet and begin to follow Jesus. Peter got back and the beginning of his following was not, in any way, better than the end of PeterÕs journey. Peter lived and died following Jesus. Jesus encouraged believers not to give up when He said, ÒAnd if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, I repent, you shall forgive him.Ó(Luke 17:4) As the forgiving forgiver, he will forgive when we fail. Get up from where you have been grounded and get into your following Him. He will help you through in the journey of life.
