FAITH CAPSULE: Regardless of how long your challenge persists you resist.
Psalm 34
In the last posting, the first and second means by which David engaged his troubling challenge were identified as, acknowledging God for His awesomeness right in the face of troubling challenge (worship God and not worry). The second point which was mentioned is crying out loud to God instead of crying with our mouth shut. The third and fourth means by which David approached his troubling challenge are listed below.
Thirdly David mentioned, “I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.”(Psalm 3:5) After having demonstrated worship in the place of worrying David slept over his trouble. David troubled his ‘troubler’ by going to sleep over it knowing that God was in control. David ignored his trouble. Jesus proved to us that with Him in our vessel; and we knowing for sure that we are carrying Him in our vessel, we can sleep over our trouble. Once, during Jesus’ cross-over journey with His disciples, a troubling storm became a troubling challenge. (Mark 4:35-41) In the midst of storm the bible recoded that, “Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a pillow.” (Mark 4:38) When the disciples were no longer able to hold to faith, they woke Jesus up and Jesus rebuked the storm. David slept because he knew that through his worship in the place of his worrying; God’s hand has been provoked on his behalf so he rested his case in the hand of God.
Fourth, David did not allow fear to have a place in his troubling challenge. He stated, “I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.”(Psalm 3:6) Fear is faith terminator when it is allowed. As an acclaimed believer, you must not entertain fear otherwise it will terminate your faith. It is true that when fear rises faith will sink and when faith rises fear must sink. Faith and fear does not tolerate each other and that is why a believer must eliminate fear. David made a conscious stand against fear when he declared, “I will not be afraid.” In the face of your troubling challenge, take a conscious stand today. Knowing that you have engaged God for help, make a declaration that you shall not fail, you shall not fall and you shall not falter in the name of Jesus. Learn from David and do just like David did and you shall testify like David testified when he stated, “Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people.” (Psalm 3:8)
Regardless of how long your challenge persists, you make it a point to resist and insist on worshiping God for His divine intervention. Be encouraged He is faithful to perfect that which He performs.
Prayer for today: Ask God for the grace to constantly keep eyes on Him in every moment of living life.
