FAITH CAPSULE: In the journey of life, fuel is like faith; key for ignition is like patience.
Romance 4
Life is a journey. Journey of life should be fueled by faith with patience as the key for ignition. Faith is described as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith has a source. The Bible emphasizes the source of faith stating, “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17). Take to mind that the word of God which comes can also cease from coming when there is disengagement from hearing the word of God. Journey of life demands constant engagement to the word of God. In the journey of life with faith and patience the word of God gives life to the just ones. Habakkuk 2:4 buttressed, “…the just shall live by his faith.” All that pertains to living life is encased in living by the word of God (living by faith). The word states it, we walk by faith not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7); we watch, stand by faith (1 Corinthians 16:13); faith purifies the heart (Acts 15:9); we are saved by faith through grace (Ephesians 2:8). Patience is crucial for anyone journeying through life having faith in God.
Describing Patience: Patience is the ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay. Faith plus patience is faith-full. Many have faith but majority are not faith-full.
As an acclaimed believer, do you have faith and patience to claim the blessings of God in the journey of life? Abraham is an example of one that engaged journey of life with faith and patience to obtain the promises of God. The bible recorded about God’s promise for Abraham in his journey of life, “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations.” (Genesis 17:1-4) Through Abraham’s journey of life, faith and patience enabled him not to doubt about God’s promise to make him a father despite of his old age. Romans 4:20-22 buttressed Abraham’s journey of faith, “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Are you still waiting despite your desire seems like it shall not manifest? Take to Abraham’s testimony and know that faith and patience shall not fail. Bible recorded in James 1:4 “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” God shall not fail if you will hold on with faith and patience.
Prayer for today: Ask for the grace for faith and patience to become faith-full through the journey of life.
