FAITH WITH PATIENCE

FAITH CAPSULE: Faith with patience is to fuel living life.

Hebrews 11

Living life should be fueled by faith with patience as the key for the ignition. Faith is described as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) Faith has a source. The Bible emphasizes the source of faith stating, “…faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) Take to mind that the Word of God which comes can also cease from coming when there is disengagement from hearing the Word of God. Living life demands constant engagement to the Word of God. Living life with faith and patience, the Word of God gives life to the just ones. Habakkuk 2:4 buttressed, “…the just shall live by his faith.” All that pertains to living life is encased in living by the Word of God (living by faith). The word states it, we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7); we watch, stand by faith (1 Corinthians 16:13); faith purifies the heart (Acts 15:9); we are saved by faith through grace (Ephesians 2:8)
Patience is crucial for anyone journeying through life having faith in God.
Describing Patience: Patience is the ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay. Patience is steady perseverance (steady persistence)
God’s character of “Longsuffering” indicates that He is a “Patient” God as stated in Numbers 14:18, “The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation.”  The word of Colossians 1:11 could not separate patience from longsuffering when stated; “Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy” By living life, the level of patience one possesses will determine the level of being blessed with perfection, completeness, and without lack.
Lack of patience denies self’s blessing and often lead to self-destruction.
Among the scriptural verses that shed light on the importance of faith and patience, “…you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:12). For a believer to inherit the promises of God, patients must be applied with faith. The Parable of the Sower by Jesus pointed out that it is through patience that bearing fruit is a possibility. Luke 8:15 stated, “But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience.” This is also buttressed in the book of Luke 21:19, “By your patience possess your souls.” Would you consider yourself a patient person, as this is required in this journey of life in faith? Man’s attention to the growth of patience in his life will be provoking more of the blessing of God.
Patience yields perfect work. James 1:4 stated it clearly, But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” Patience is of God. (John 6:28-29) In life, have patience; believe in Him whom He sent so that you become perfect, complete, lacking nothing.

Prayer for today: Ask God to enable you to be patience as you have desire in Him.
