CLAIM HIS PROMISES

FAITH CAPSULE: Commitment to God will claim His promises.

Numbers 32

The Israelites lack of commitment to the word of God denies them to claim the promise of God.
Are you committed to the word of God to claim the promise of God?
To be quoting the word of God from the head is not evidence of commitment to God but keeping the word of God in the heart is commitment.
Commitment to the word of God is not in memorizing the word of God but to meditate day and night and be able to do according to the word of God. In the journey of life, the lack of commitment to the word of God will deny arrival and not claim the promise of God.
One with a commitment to the word of God is giving self to walk before God without ceasing.
With a commitment to the living word of God is taking the unfailing route in the journey of life.
Claiming to be a believer without commitment to the word of God is having a religion with no relationship with God.
Does that sound like you?
Commitment to the word of God is obedient to God.
The Israelites were repeatedly disobedient before God during their journey to the Promised Land.
The children of Gad and Reuben disobeyed God to settle outside of the word of God for their self-convenience. Numbers 32:1-7 documents the disobedient of the children of Gad and the children of Reuben, “Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock; and when they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, that indeed the region was a place for livestock, the children of Gad and the children of Reuben came and spoke to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the leaders of the congregation, saying, “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Shebam, Nebo, and Beon, the country which the LORD defeated before the congregation of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.” Therefore, they said, “If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not take us over the Jordan.” And Moses said to the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben: “Shall your brethren go to war while you sit here? Now, why will you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the LORD has given them?”
God promised the land that flows with milk and honey, but the children of Gad and children of Reuben could not commit to the promise of God but set for livestock (milk provision).
In the journey of life, replacing commitment to the word of God with self-convenience will not arrive at the promise of God.
Commitment to God is costly, demands self-sacrifice with no convenience.
One that compromises the word of God is with no commitment to God.
Self-discipline works with commitment but, doubting works against it. With doubt, fear will relegate faith.
Do not be a victim of doubt.
In the journey of life, be committed to God and remain connected to the promises in the word of God.

Prayer for today: Ask to be enabled committed to God.
