FAITH CAPSULE: Three parts of prayer to engage.
Acts 12
PART ONE
In John 6:28, records question before Jesus, “Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
In verse 29, Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
To believe in whom God sent is working the work.
One that believes is LIVING BY HIS WORD?
PRAYER
ASK that God enable you to understand and know to be living life by His word to work the works of God.
Among reasons why not work the works of God can be the evidence sleeping in the place to be awake.
Acts 12:1-6 documents that Herod killed James and was about to kill Peter.
Peter was asleep.
The church must have been asleep not praying for James but, the church awoke after the death of James to pray for the deliverance of Peter, that was sleeping.
PRAYER
Ask that God enables you to be awake, not to become a victim of sleeping in the place of praying. Lord God, keep me awake!
Jesus said to His disciples when He took them to pray with Him in Matthew 26:40, “Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?”
Are you one that knows to pray but not knows to watch?
Jesus never tells us to pray but watching and praying is what He repeatedly requests.
ASK that God give you the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to engage Him watching and praying with consistency.
PART TWO
One that is walking with God, before God or walking in Him, do not set back in the calling of God.
When the calling of deliverance for Lot and his family from destruction answered for Lot, the wife walking behind not with or before Lot became a victim of looking back. Genesis 19:26 records, “But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.”
PRAYER
ASK that God deliver you from everywhere you are looking away from His calling over your life.
ASK that you shall not be a victim of looking back instead of looking forward in Him.
PART THREE
Revelations 4:11 records, “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
All are created by God, for God to exist for His glory.
What is it that is reducing one not to live life for God?
What is it that you know consciously or unconsciously not to be living life for His glory?
Among forces that are making one not live life for God are:
Knowing or unknowing sin committed reduces one not to live for the glory of God.
Ignorant makes a destitute of the believer.
PRAYER
ASK that every sin or sinning before Him consciously to be separated from you that you will be full of His glory.
ASK that God deliver you from every force of distraction that derails man from following Him diligently.
