Gen.20:1-18

Abimelech king of Gerar took Sarah the wife of Abraham. It happened when Abraham journeyed to stay in Gerar. Abimelech was like Pharaoh, king of Egypt who did not know God. When GodÕs direction sounded warning to Pharaoh, he did not hear God. He played hard headed; he did not let the children of Israel go, he paid hard for his disobedience. In the case of Abimelech, God sounded warning to Abimelech to release Sarah back to Abraham (through dream), he heard God clearly and he obeyed God. Gen.20:14 “Then Abimelech took sheep, oxen, and male and female servants, and gave them to Abraham; and he restored Sarah his wife to him.” Is there any area of your life that the LORD has been speaking to you? Pray that God will open you up to his direction that will deliver you from destruction. In AbimelechÕs obedience there was a blessing and there was a deliverance from destruction. In V.17 of the same chapter, Abraham prayed to God; and God healed Abimelech, his wife and his female servants. Then they bore children. God packaged blessings with obedience, while curse is packed with disobedience.
