GENERAL OVERSEER< ?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
Genesis 40:5-19
Let this be constantly active in all your actions, statements, comings and goings, that God alone is your general overseer. It is not enough that you acknowledge this but that it is written all over your conduct and appearance and in all of your communication. The main reason for this point of remembrance is to let God know that you are giving Him His due attention. He is a jealous God. If the antidote for a jealous God is attention, then your full attention belongs unto God. Giving Him your attention in all things should be demonstrated in the way you live your life. Exodus 34:14, ÒFor you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is jealous, is a jealous God.Ó Indeed, He is a jealous God because His word says so and His word is true. Many in the Bible, who gave God the attention He deserves, received His backing in return. Joseph is an example of one who gave God attention in all areas of his life. JosephÕs response when he interpreted the dreams of PharaohÕs butler and baker is an example to be emulated by every believer. Despite JosephÕs difficult situation, he did not take anything away from His God. Genesis 40:8, ÒAnd they said to him, we each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. So Joseph said to them, do not interpretations come from God? Tell them to me, please.Ó What a response! Joseph who had been privileged in interpreting dreams gave God all the glory. He did not brag about interpreting, but instead, acknowledged publicly that interpretation comes from God. He knew and recognized his general overseer. God who is the God of the living heard and saw all that was taking place. He responded by giving Joseph the ability to understand and interpret the dreams in His name. Let God arise and be your general overseer.
