FINDING HIM
2 Chronicles 15:1-7
There is no hour or a set time of the day that determines when and where God can be found. God is not limited by my man’s timing. He is the Almighty God! The Great I Am that I Am! God has never failed and He will never deny Himself neither shall any of His word go back to Him void. As much as He is invisible, He is also near to His children. There is a time when He can be found. The Spirit of God once moved Azariah, the son of Obed, and he spoke to King Asa. “And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: ‘Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The LORD is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.’”(2 Chronicles 15:2) Just as it is indicated in some pages of the Bible, Azariah said to Asa that the presence of God is always available, but His presence can only be found based on the condition of forsaking the wicked way. The condition to find Him is inhabited in seeking Him. Seeking God when He can be found is not just in going to church. Seeking God when He can be found is not just in noise making nor is seeking God when He can be found in how long you have accepted Christ. A man can be conversant with doing all of the above and still not find Him. Seeking God is in not forsaking Him. Forsaking God is living a sinful life; a lifestyle that God cannot accommodate because He is a Holy God. Isaiah 55:6-7, “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the righteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; And to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” Having His presence always around is not a liberty to finding Him always. Isaiah clearly pointed out that any way that is outside of God’s way is a clear demarcation for God to be found. He does not accommodate wicked ways. Is there any way that seems right to you? Proverbs 14:12, “There is a way that seems right to a man but its end is a way of death.” Forsake the way of death for the way of life is only in Christ Jesus and it is only then that you will find Him. God is Holy and He is not a difficult God except when man makes the choice of going through a difficult avenue where God cannot be found. Are you having challenges finding Him? He is near than it can be imagined if a conscious and deliberate step of not forsaking Him is constantly being taken. Remember, He is gracious and He never runs out of mercy; except you run out of His mercy. God will abundantly pardon all who repent and turn away from their wicked way.
