FAITH CAPSULE: Ignoring the word of God equals subbing God.
1 Samuel 15
Snubbing God can be a character of pride:
It is pride that denies man not to hear and give ear to do by the word of God. Jeremiah 13:15 buttresses, “Hear and give ear: do not be proud, for the Lord has spoken.”
Search yourself to identify what is denying you to do the word of God by giving yourself to a route of self-destruction.
With pride is snubbing God to engage what seems right, but not what God commands is not right before God.
Proverbs 14:12 warns, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.”
Pride is not of God but the identity of walking against what is right before God. Pride is self-destruction.
Snubbing God is not waiting on God:
A failure to wait on God is seeking outside of God.
One that does not remember God does not wait on God for His promise. Hebrews 13:5 states the word of God, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He, Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Remember always that God will not forsake you, wait on Him.
A failure to wait on God results from not remembering the works of God that are rooted in His word. Psalm 106:13-14 testifies, “… soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert.”
In life, one that does not remember God will not give regard to consider the works of God.
Does that speak of you?
Are you disregarding the works of God?
Isaiah 5:12-13 records, “The harp and the strings, the tambourine, and the flute, and wine are in their feasts; but they do not regard the work of the LORD, nor consider the operation of His hands. Therefore, my people have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge; their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.”
The Israelites repeatedly snubbed the works of God, so God substituted the Promised Land for a wilderness journey of forty years. (Numbers14)
Gain an understanding to know giving attention to God, to disregard snubbing God?
Mark it in your journey of life that your conscious or unconscious iniquity is before God, an act of snubbing God.
Walking against the word of God by engaging iniquity will have no place to hide before God. Job testifies in Job 34:22, “There is no darkness nor shadow of death where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.”
Jonah is an example that snubbed God and could not hide from God when he walked against the direction of God.
God called him to go to Nineveh, but he flees to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. (Jonah 1:1-3)
Jonah snubbed God and exposed to painful consequences, spending time outside of the presence of God, in the belly of fish for three days.
Do not substitute the direction of God all the days of your life.
Learn not to snub God consistently!
Prayer for today: Pray against the spirit of snub in your life.
