FAITH CAPSULE: As a believer, how often do you feed on the word of God?
Psalm 61
Just as feeding on food demands an opening of the mouth, to be built by the word of God demands an opening of the heart.
Waiting for Sunday or reading the word of God once in a while will amount to little or not full of the word of God.
What is it that you are giving your heart to?
What you give your heart to is what will build you up.
Whatever you receive will become of you.
Give heart to the word of God.
Romans 10:17 states, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
One that gives heart gives self to the word of God to become one that word of God builds up.
Acts 20:32 admonishes, “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
The word of God is the presence of God.
Giving oneself to the word of God is taking a position to be filled by the word of God, the presence of God.
One that takes the hearing of the word of God as a priority will testify that to have seen God move by His word.
After experiencing the word of God in its dimension (extent), Job testifies in Job 41:5, “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.”
The ability to hear and see in the word is the power to build up one for possessing inheritance among all the sanctified.
One the word builds fear of God.
David testifies, “For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.” (Psalm 61:5)
God heard the vow of David and gave him the heritage of those who fear Him. Paul points out that one built by the word of God will gain the inheritance of those who are sanctified (consecrated to God).
What is it about heritage or receiving inheritance among the sanctified?
Isaiah 54:17 states, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.”
Blessing to claim inheritance among the sanctified comes with a condition.
Do not be an acclaimed believer with no substance to be claiming, “No weapon formed against you shall not prosper.”
Engage the word of God as the servant of the Lord to experience the blessing of the heritage of the servants of the Lord.
Indeed, it is a blessing to become one that nothing forms against shall proper, but without being a servant of the Lord, claiming the heritage of the servants of God is an error.
Prayer for today: Ask to be enabled to the word of God and be built by the word of God.
