FAITH CAPSULE: Selfishness is one of the characteristics of a fool.
Psalm 14
Do not be a fool, but give your heart to God.
Selfishness is one of the reasons one who has closed up and is not mindful of God does not fear God.
A heart given to God is with the fear of God.
Do you understand the fear of God?
Lack of understanding of the fear of God means not knowing God.
Proverbs 2:5 buttresses, “Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.”
The majority no longer fear God with their heart but with their mouth.
One not living life for God is a fool, saying there is no God.
Psalm 14:1 states, “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, There is none who does good.”
One that is a fool will not know to do good before God.
God sees all.
Do not be a fool.
Know to do good before God at all times.
Do not be a selfish one.
Whatever you do before God is what you are sowing to reap.
In this wicked world, know to do good to attain the mercy of God.
Live life, sow good to reap good from God.
It is a wise saying that whatever one sows such will reap.
For example, as close as bananas and plantain look alike, there is no way to sow bananas and reap plantain.
What are you sowing to reap?
Hosea 10:12 records admonish, “Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy.”
God will reward your devices!
All should know that God is near to all at all times.
Do not be selfish in your ways of life.
Know God to fear Him, the rewarder of one who fears Him to do good for His glory.
God is near at all times.
2 Chronicles 16:9 testifies, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro…”
There is no hiding place from God that is near at all times.
One that gives self to God by spending time in His word is conversant with God to hear from God and is in a position to do according to the word of God.
Giving oneself to the word of God is taking a position to gain the mercy of God.
However, God cannot be intimidated to provoke His blessing.
God testifies to His mercy in Romans 9:14-16, “…I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion. So, then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.”
The mercy of God is in place for all, and nothing under heaven can displace or deny His mercy.
However, live life for God to provoke His mercy over your life.
Prayer for today: Pray to be able to focus on God, and live for God to gain His presence in your life.
