PUT ASIDE ALL FOR GOD

FAITH CAPSULE: Answering the calling of God is to put aside self for God.

Philippians 4

Life is full of ups and downs.
In life, having content is having satisfaction.
Engage the journey of life with contentment to arrive at the center of God’s divine assignment.
In a world that screams of asking for more, it is tough to find fulfillment and satisfaction.
One with Self-discipline will be focused on God, regardless of life challenges.
Living life for God with the character of contentment will enable one to excel for the glory of God.
Moses was content with God’s divine assignment for his life.
Without contentment, Moses would not have been able to stay at Midian after he escaped for killing an Egyptian.
Contentment was a pointer for Moses to live for God, leading as a leader under God.
The leadership of Moses brought the Israelites out of the bondage of over four hundred years in Egypt to God’s Promised Land. Exodus 2:21 described Moses, “Then Moses was content to live with the man, and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses.”
Moses was content and disciplined not to miss the calling of God as a leader for God’s assignment.
In life, having content is having satisfaction.
To answer the calling of God should not be separated from satisfaction.
Are you answering the calling of God?
Is satisfaction your character?
Satisfaction is to have the fear of God.
Proverbs 19:23 states, “The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil.”
Without fear of God, how would one be led?
To know God in the heart is the possibility to live in the fear of God.
One with the fear of God will live by the fear of God to lead as directed by God.
Moses led as commanded by God.
Know God to live for God, having the spirit of satisfaction, not to become a victim of evil.
Contentment is satisfaction.
The book of 1Timothy 6: 6-7 states, “Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and we can certainly carry nothing out.”
Know God to be content and be exposed to gain, answering the calling of God.
Answering the calling of God is to put aside self for God.
Philippians 4:4-7  records the identity of one with contentment that is living life in satisfaction, “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Contentment encases the peace of God, rejoicing, gentleness, but rendering prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving to God in one’s life.
To be content shall not be covetous in the calling of God.
Be contented in life and serve God with steadfastness.
Have faith, give yourself to God.

Prayer for today: Pray that the spirit of contentment ride over your life.
