FAITH CAPSULE: Enable me to gain more understanding.

Psalm 119:134-169

Following God is characterized by living (existing) to the glory of God.
Revelation 4:11 records the reason why all should live for God that creates all, “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.”
It is the WILL of God for all to exist (live) for Him.
Knowing how to live for God does not happen by accident.
The crucial key to living for God is rooted in UNDERSTANDING.
Understand the word of God.
Evidently, it is the understanding one possesses that will determine how far to go in living for God.
One with an understanding of the word of God will know of having an edge in life, to excel for the glory of God.
WITH UNDERSTANDING:
One who gives to the word of God will gain understanding and become built for God.
Apostle Paul says, “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up…” (Acts 20:32)
Give yourself to the word of God!
Disengage from the world that can not build you up for God.
Noah received the word of God for his ark.
With understanding, from the word of God, Noah prepared against imminent destruction. 
The wife of Lot disobeyed God by disengaging from the word of God to experience self-destruction.
Quoting the word of God or living as an unbelieving believer is not evidence of understanding to build up for God.
Let studying, not just reading the word, build you for God.
Pray for the understanding of God in your life.
WITH UNDERSTANDING
With understanding, know that the word of God is not a story but a secret.
Psalm 91:1 buttresses, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Seek God diligently to find Him in His word.
Study the word more than reading.
There is power in the word of God.
The devil approached Jesus with temptation, but the word of God delivered Him. (Matthew 4:1-7)
Live by the word of God.
The word of God is irrelevant and does not count for unbelieving believers.
To carry the word of God in the heart is power, unlike in the mouth.
Pray to live by the word of God, the character of giving oneself to the word of God.
WITH UNDERSTANDING
Understanding is to live by the word of God.
Many claim to be believers, but the majority are not living by the word of God.
Are you a believer or an unbelieving believer?
When the living word of God gains entrance, such shall be full of light, not to be a victim of the darkness of the world.
Psalm 119:130 records, “The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.”

Prayer for today: Ask that this season, understanding the word of God, shall become established in your life.
